TH 75 Detention Improvements Plans & Specifications and Advertisement for Bids

City Council consideration is requested to approve the plans and specifications for the TH 75 Detention Basin Project. The project includes construction of a stormwater detention basin located east of Highway 75 between Dodge Street and Adams Avenue on property formerly owned by Bethany Lutheran Church. Improvements also include redirecting the existing TH 75 storm sewer to outlet into the new detention basin and installing new storm sewer from the basin through Sitting Bull Park to Estey Street.
The existing storm sewer system along this corridor is undersized, located on private property between residential homes, and is in poor condition. The proposed project will improve system capacity, reliability, and maintenance access.
The City has been awarded $180,000 in Federal PROTECT funding to assist with project costs. Construction is anticipated to occur in fall 2026. Approval of the plans and specifications will allow the project to proceed to bidding, setting a Bid Opening Date of July 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
