Title

PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SUBMITTING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE MN DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE GREATER MINNESOTA BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE (BDPI) GRANT PROGRAM

Body

Proposed Resolution 17-26 authorizes the City of Luverne to apply for a Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure (BDPI) grant to support the extension of Mayes Drive and related utilities for future industrial park development. The resolution designates the City as the legal sponsor of the application and commits a local financial match. While BDPI grants can fund up to 50 percent of the eligible project costs, estimated at approximately $850,000 for this project, the City will provide a matching contribution of roughly $850,000. Design engineering and permitting expenses are not eligible for grant funding or considered matching funds. Additionally, the resolution authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to execute all necessary agreements and affirms the City’s commitment to comply with all legal, financial, and program requirements associated with the grant.
