Resolution for Authorization to Execute State of Minnesota Department of Transportation and City of Luverne Cooperative Construction Agreement.

The City of Luverne is partnering with MnDOT to construct a 30” storm sewer across T.H. 75 at Gabrielson Road (near Kwik Trip and Taco Johns). The crossing will include open throat intakes on the east and west side of the highway to improve drainage along the highway. The proposed storm sewer will connect to the storm sewer that was installed last summer along the south side of Kwik Trip’s property, outletting to the drainage channel east of T.H. 75. The project will also include replacing the existing intakes on T.H. 75 near Buffalo Ridge Insurance with larger intakes to increase the amount of storm water being captured. Due to the storm sewer being installed across the highway, a detour will need to be in place for a portion work. Pending approvals, the project is estimated to be bid late June with construction anticipated for late August - October of this year. Estimated construction cost is $251,000 and MnDOT has agreed to split the construction cost 50/50 with the City of Luverne through a Cooperative Construction Agreement.
