Representing the Luverne Baseball Association, Barry Shelton has applied for an on-sale malt liquor and wine license for the sale and consumption of malt liquor (strong beer authorized) and wine at Redbird Field. Minnesota State Statute on Intoxicating Liquor; On-sale Licenses was amended in 2022 to allow municipalities to issue on-sale wine and malt liquor license to a baseball team competing in a league established by the Minnesota Baseball Association for beverage sales at a ballpark during events. Also, a license issued under this section authorizes sales on all days of the week. Mr. Shelton has completed the application, supplied the certificate of insurance and paid the fees. If approved, applications will be submitted to the state for their approval as well.
