The City Hall Parking Lot Improvements project consists of removing the existing asphalt paving, salvaging, regrading, and compacting the existing granular base, and replacing the pavement with 6” concrete. Initially we looked at trying to salvage as much of the existing curb and gutter as possible, but after further review, most of the curb and gutter was either in poor condition, or did not adequately drain. Due to the curb and gutter being replaced, the sidewalk adjacent to the curb and gutter needs to be replaced for constructability reasons. The sidewalk will be constructed with a 7 foot width, instead of the existing 5 foot width to allow for easier snow removal by the City. The bid letting is scheduled for February 15, 2024. The project will be constructed this spring/summer with a substantial completion date of August 9, 2024.
